Consignments Guidelines
No Appointments necessary
(except for  whatever you consider to be Vintage).

Consignment Hours  
Tues. & Fri.         11- 4 pm
Wed. & Thurs.     11- 7 pm


1. HANGERS

All items MUST BE ON  HANGERS and
IRONED or dry-cleaned.
(Some items may be folded over hangers, but not wrinkled).
You can use Dry-Cleaner wire hangers, get some from them,  get some
from us, or you can use the hangers you have.

If you want hangers back, you must change hangers when we accept your
items.  We don't need the hangers, we just want items not wrinkled.

2. STYLES

We accept everything for women.
Between 10-25 of your best items at a time.

1.) Up-to-date clothing, less than 2 yrs old,  items in excellent
condition

2.) Vintage Clothing and accessories must be cleaned and
pressed.

MAKE APPT. WITH OWNER TO BRING IN VINTAGE.

-Fads,-Trends,-Costumes-Classics,-Retro,-Funky,-Etc...

Plus purses, shoes, jewelry**, boots, gloves, hats,
belts, etc, and some Household Decorations.

**Display jewelry one to a box.

3A. SIZES

Juniors**We are now only accepting HIGH-END JUNIOR
CLOTHING- sizes Zero, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11

Womens sizes Zero to 14 (or XL),
plus Petites!

3. PREPARATION

All items must be shined, zipped, tied, no scratches, rips, etc.
Purses and shoes should be stuffed with tissue paper, dry cleaning
bags, or whatever, as well as
cleaned inside-out, and top to bottom.

3A.)  It is a good idea to cover your items with a dry cleaner bag, or something like that.  
Include a piece of paper pinned to this with your name and date.



4. SEASONAL

We accept at these times of the year:

Early light-weight Transitional Fall Clothing          -around July 15
Traditional colors of Fall clothing, but not wools yet.   - Aug. 1

Halloween items                   - around September 1st               
  Fall Clothing including wools         -Sept. 15

Thanksgiving and Holiday Clothing, Furs        -Oct. 1
Early Transitional
Winter Clothing         -Nov. 1
                    
                        -Nov. 15
                                            -Dec. 1
                                            -Dec. 15
Early Transitional light colored Spring Clothing      -around Jan. 1
                            -Jan. 15
Spring Clothing                       -around Feb. 1
                            -Feb. 15
Early Transitonal Summer Clothing-            - around March 1
Mid-Summer-                   - around April 1
remainder of Summer Clothing        -Apr. 15



6. The CLIPBOARD

****Sign your name, DATE, AND BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF
WHAT YOU BROUGHT IN, on the "DROP-OFF" clipboard right
AWAY***************

7.)Length of Consignment PERIOD

The consignment period is 2 months long, and, at the end of that
time, you receive 40% of what the item sold for.

8. PAYMENTS

Payment is at the end of the 2 months, but you have to come in to
the store to collect your money
.   Checks are only mailed if
you move, and you  must send a SASE to Doubletake.

8A. CHECKING YOUR ACCOUNT

It is best if you come in to the store to check your account.  We
usually only have one person here, and cannot always answer the
large amount of phone calls we get daily.

9. YOUR STORE CREDIT

You may spend your credit in the store at any time - you do not
have to wait for the end of the 2 months to do that.

10. ONE YEAR

You have one year to collect your money.

11.) YOUR LIST

We recommend that you make a list of your items for yourself, so
that you know what you brought in to our store, in case of a mishap.

12. DONATIONS

When the 2 month period is over, unsold merchandise is
donated to charities, with some exceptions.

13.) PICKING UP
your consignments

Consignors can pick up furs, gowns, leathers, Vintage, and
other expensive items at their request, at the end of  the
consignment period.

Let us know at time of drop off.

14.) WAITING...

Consignors who are dropping off consignments, must wait  for
purchasing customers.

17.) FEES...

There is a one-time $5 processing fee to open an account, but
you don't have to give the money up front;  all accounts start at
(-$5.00).

19.) PARK

Parking is to the right of the Pink House, in our 5 pink spaces,
or
in the large lot in the back.  

20.) PINK House STATEMENT


You are our client, and since you want your items to sell, it is in
your best interest that you make them as presentable as
possible.


Doubletake is not responsible for your lost items.  It is up to
the consignor to make sure that their batch of items is labelled
with a name and date.

Doubletake reserves the right to donate any item at any time
(except for gowns, furs, vintage and designer items), if we find
that it does not meet our requirements.  

***If we have accepted an item, but find later that it is stained,
button missing, etc., we will record that we have donated the
item and the reason in the computer.

Print this out and bring it with you so you can review it while
you wait.
